Don't forget to bring your appetite.
Nowhere else on earth will you find cuisine like ours. If you've never had shoofly pie, scrapple, or farm-fresh baked goods made from scratch, you're in for a treat. Our hearty regional specialties reflect our people and lifestyles and conjure up warm memories of hearth and home.
We're more than comfort food, however! Serious foodies love our elegant restaurants and casual bistros—gourmet food tastes best when it's fresh, and our creative chefs revel in their proximity to some of the best farmland in the world. Our agricultural heritage is the basis of our culinary prowess. Our apple orchards are legendary—Adams County produces more than five million bushels each year. And our fields produce the grapes and grains that local vintners and brewers use to create the finest wines and beers.
In short, dining is important here. From sidewalk cafes to roadside stands, family eateries to gourmet restaurants, you'll find a mix of tastes and atmospheres to suit your every craving. Come and savor the many complex flavors of our unique region.
Old Country Buffet
Ok, we know what kids are like —they all want something different. We have the answer! The Old Country Buffet features a huge buffet (of course), with so many selections that you might even have a little trouble making up your own mind. But no worries! This is a casual place, where you can relax, kick back, and enjoy old favorites or new discoveries.
Trattoria Fratelli
Fine and fresh Italian fare, an extensive wine list, and a cozy, intimate atmosphere add up to a dining experience that will remind you why you fell in love in the first place. This lovely restaurant specializes in authentic Italian, and it really doesn't get much better than that. Try one of the wood-fried pizzas, or go for something fancier---but save room for dessert and after-dinner specialty coffees.
Kumm Esse Diner
This diner really knows its stuff! The specialty is Pennsylvania Dutch cuisine---hearty, rib-sticking country food like scrapple, pepper cabbage, and chicken potpie. The desserts are to-die for, too. Get ready for banana bread, strawberry pie, and fritters that melt in your mouth. Want more? Peruse the menu, have some more coffee, and soak up the authentically Pennsylvania Dutch atmosphere. You'll probably catch a bit of our delightful regional accent, too, if you listen!
