Franklin County

Charming Chambersburg is the seat of Franklin County, where Civil War history reigns supreme. Confederates occupied Chambersburg three times during the war, and visitors can immerse themselves in this history by touring the courthouse, the jail, the town square, and Chambers Fort. But Franklin County is much more than history! The quaint towns around here offer outstanding shopping, theatre, farmers' markets, and outdoor recreation like golf, biking, fishing, skydiving---just about anything you can think of!

Theatre in Chambersburg

The Capitol Theatre Center is a historic performance space, with 852 seats and a full schedule of performances ranging from Broadway shows to music from the Grand Ol' Opry. The Chambersburg Community Theatre performs here, too, as does the Chambersburg Ballet Theatre.
